Roscoe Ferris, LICSW, LADC, is a licensed independent Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor in the State of Vermont since October 2010.Roscoe spent six years working in the addictions treatment field and then spent 16 months in internship in Fort Lauderdale and Miami, prior to getting a masters degree in social work. Roscoe received his Social Work Graduate Degree in May 2008 from Barry University located in Miami Shores, Florida. Roscoe received 4000 hours (two years) of supervised work and training prior to licensure in Baltimore Maryland. Roscoe has been supervised and trained in Individual, Family, and Group Therapy.  Roscoe received training in a variety of therapeutic styles including Mindfulness, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, addictions counseling, CBT, and Experiential Therapy.

As a Social Worker Roscoe works with and has experience in working with a wide variety of psychological and emotional problems, including Trauma, Mood disorders like Depression and Bipolar, Grief and Loss, Anger and Stress Management, Anxiety, Substance Abuse and Dependence, forensic and Dual Diagnosis issues with Substance Abuse Disorders and mood and/or anxiety disorders.

Roscoe believes that health is acquired by addressing the whole person.  He states, ” I work with clients in a supportive non-judgmental way to develop coping strategies for managing life’s challenges. I have joined the team at Center for Strong Mind, Strong Body because of a shared philosophy that health is acquired through a holistic approach to wellness.
